BLURB:

With the help of a bet, an eight-hundred-year-old marriage contract, and a spell, ex-SBS soldier Will might just have enough in his arsenal to capture Meghan’s heart.

Since arriving in Little Glen, Scotland, Meghan Kennedy’s life has got decidedly more interesting. She enters into a bet with hunky ex-SBS soldier, William MacKenzie, discovers an ancient marriage contract and to top it all off, she learns that she had a spell cast on her…eight hundred years before she was even born. None of it matters, because she refuses to make the same mistake twice. Will’s hard body and sexy grin don’t matter, his beautiful hypnotic eyes don’t matter, and it doesn’t matter that every time they kiss her body calls out for his, as though denied of his touch for hundreds of years.

Ex-SBS soldier William MacKenzie is disciplined, trained to be an efficient soldier and he takes the same approach with his life as he does his business. Then Meghan arrives, with her fiery temper and hair to match, all he can think about is Meghan. Her feisty temper bemuses him, her beauty astounds him and her stubbornness annoys the hell out of him. Lucky for him, he doesn’t know how to quit, he can be just as stubborn and occasionally ruthless, and he will use any means necessary to get her. Of course the ‘means’ at his disposal just happen to be a bet, a marriage contract and an ancient spell, but if in the end Meghan belongs to him, who is he to argue?

EXCERPT:

Meghan began to get dizzy looking back and forth between the four men. She put up her hands and said quite firmly, “I have both my father and Duncan’s eye colour, and I look more like my mum, but my temperament and apparently my hair…are from my grandmother, or so I’ve been told.” With that said she batted her eyelashes at them innocently.
Hamish and Stewart began to laugh as Ray chuckled. “That you do, lass. And do you know you would be my granddaughter, if old Duncan here hadn’t come along and stolen Ruth from me?”
She had never heard that before. Turning, she looked to Duncan for the truth, but all she saw was murder in his green eyes.
Meghan eyed Ray. She had met her grandmother Ruth only once, but it was so long ago the memory had faded. But she did know her grandmother had been a beautiful and spirited woman, so she had a hard time believing that this stocky little man had almost stolen her away from Duncan.
“Good thing for me you’re not.” She playfully waved her hand and chuckled the rest of her insult. “I’m not a big fan of heels.”
    “Meghan!” Duncan scolded.
Will coughed trying to hide his laugh. Okay so maybe she shouldn’t have insulted him but she didn’t like what the little twerp had said.
She raised her hands. “That’s not what it sounded like…I meant…” She looked at the men standing in front of her and groaned inwardly. Ah crap!
“Look, it’s just that we Kennedy women like our men tall, dark, handsome, with a”—she struggled for the right word—“commanding presence. Short and sweet just isn’t our thing. But you seem funny. Funny’s good too.” She noticed that Duncan was still scowling. “What? I apologised.” This time Will laughed outright.
“Oh for God’s sake!” She was just about to give Ray a proper apology when Hamish cut her off.
“Tall, dark, handsome, with a commanding presence, eh? Does that sound like someone we know?” Hamish gave his friends a nod.
What was he talking about? All four men shifted their gaze behind her. She froze.     “What? No, no. That’s not what…”
    “He is tall,” Ray confirmed.
“And he does have dark hair,” Stewart pointed out.
Meghan gaped, looking back and forth between the men, her heart starting to race.
“Hold it!” she said loud enough to get their attention. “You misunderstood what I…”
    “No, we didn’t,” Ray beamed.
What was wrong with her? She had described her perfect man with him standing right behind her. But was that enough? Nooooo, she just had to say it out loud and in front of three complete strangers and Duncan.
“How about you, Will? Do you know anyone who fits that description?” Stewart asked.
    “Yes, surprisingly I do.”

AUTHOR Bio:

I am a full-blooded Canadian, right down to the maple syrup running through my veins. I enjoy watching hockey, but despise skating...and the cold.  I enjoy a good helping of Tourtiere with a side of Poutine as must as the next person, yet I am only bilingual when it comes to swear words.  I am proud to say I survived my token shot of Newfie Screech, although I did refuse to kiss the Cod - that is never going to happen - and I openly admit, that I fell in love with the Rocky Mountains the first time I saw them.

I have many occupations written down in my passport, mom, wife, author...zookeeper!  However, I have to say that writing is by far the easiest part of my day.

I have three small -but legal- addictions: bed lines, lavender, and books.  All of which, are replenished on a regular basis.  Reading into the wee hours of the morning, is one of many bad habits, next to spontaneously rearranging furniture and randomly painting rooms in my house.

Virtual Blog Tour - Venetian Love Knots by Normandie Alleman

BLURB:

In Venice, Allison Fox will find love in the arms of two men. Her past collides with her future in a battle for her heart. Which one will win?

Travelling to Venice to be the maid of honour in her best friend’s wedding sounds like a great vacation, and a romantic way to spend Valentine’s Day. But when Allison Fox discovers who the best man is, she is torn between duty and self-preservation.

It has taken Allison four years to put her tumultuous relationship with the rodeo cowboy behind her after a violent incident ripped them apart. Now Allison must find a way to face her past and find closure with her old flame. But will she be able to put the past behind her?

Cole is the Texas cowboy who has never got over his love for Allison. But when he declares his love for her after all this time, is she strong enough to walk away from the intense passion they share?

For years Nico, a handsome Italian, was committed to nothing but his work. Nico never expected he would meet an American beauty who would awaken in him a desire to love again. Once he finds her, Nico vows to never let Allison go.

It will be a Valentine’s Day to remember, but who will win Allison’s heart?

Excerpt:

Allison held her plastic cup in a death grip as she absently rattled the ice cubes in it. She stared out of the bubble-shaped window on her flight to Rome. The vodka had done little to calm her nerves. Neither People, Cosmo, nor Vogue had been any help distracting her. Allison’s mind was determined to go back to the one man who had caused her more pain and heartache than she had ever known. The man whom she would soon see for the first time in four years.

She bit her lip and shut her eyes tightly. Allison remembered the day her best friend Marcia had told her that she was getting married in Venice the week of Valentine’s Day. Marcia had asked her to be her maid of honour and Allison had immediately jumped at the chance. She loved to travel, and she wanted to be there for Marcia.

A couple of weeks later, Allison had just walked into her apartment when she’d got a call from Marcia. “Allie, honey, it’s me, Marsh. Are you sitting down? I need you to sit down.”

Allison had set her groceries down on the floor and sat.

“Honey, Alfonso has gotten Cole to agree to be his best man,” she’d said.

Marcia’s announcement had been met with complete silence.

“Allison? You still there?” Marcia had asked.

Cole. For years Allison had prayed for indifference towards Cole. She had hated him for years. What she felt for Cole was either unmitigated passion or hate. She didn’t know any in between. And what she had wound up craving was indifference. The last time she’d seen him, four years ago, what she had prayed for, what she had begged God for, was to feel indifference towards him. He had almost ruined her life.
